Foreign labour employment for foreigners for hotel housekeeping will not be allowed after 31Dec 2016. However, due to currently still a big problem for hotels to get locals for this job MAHO jointly with MAH had requested and written officially to MoTAC to consider extending to allow foreign labour for housekeeping beyond 2016 until end 2020. At the same time MAHO and MAH have to initiate and undertake efforts and activities to promote and encourage locals to be employed for this job. Job fairs and carnivals will be undertaken aggressively for this purpose.
